Walter W. Weaver
Walter W. Weaver passed away at home around 11:00 am on November 2, 1999.
Walter is survived by his wife, Mary, his son, Michael J. Weaver, daughter-in-law
Linda and grandson Mathew. Walt was my navigator and we had many experiences
together that will keep his memory alive. He and Mary were the coordinators
for our convention in 1996 in Savannah. It was during this time that he
had his heart attack and with other complications of diabetes and kidney
failure, he elected to live the balance of his life with a quality of life
that he could enjoy. Walt was instrumental in starting the local 8th Air
Force Wing of the Georgia Chapter. He also was one of the initial groups
that selected the land that the Mighty eighth AF Heritage Museum now stands
on. He was very dedicated to the 467th and will be deeply missed. Walt
was buried at Arlington Cemetery on November 19, 1999 with full military
honors. Our sincere sympathy is expressed to his wife, Mary (also known
as Ernie), and his surviving family. May God accept him and keep him till
we meet again.
