
"V-Mail" Letter from Lt. Thomas
Goodyear, Asst. S-2 Intelligence section with the Group, to William "Bill"
Counts a former POW who had just returned to the U.S. The Letter shows how the fate of
many airman was still unknown at this time during the War. The majority of
"Bill" Counts crew were officially recorded as MIA with the Group; this was
later updated to officially KIA with the pilot Bill Counts the sole survivor from his crew
